Adam and Eve Didn’t Have Water Filters

The water in the Garden of Eden was perfect, clean, and utterly refreshing. They could go to any river, lake, or body of water and drink. They didn’t have to worry about iron, bacteria, parasites, and dirt. You get the picture. They could drink plain old water and not worry. Fast forward thousands of years and we have a world where water filters are a necessary component of most homes. Unless people want to spend hundreds of dollars a year for bottled water, a water purification system is essential.

How many of us ever thought we would see a drink machine with bottled water that costs a dollar. Yes, water for a dollar. I remember when a Coke was a nickel and you could buy a large Coke and a bag of popcorn for only a quarter. Yes, that dates me, but who cares? If you still drink plain old drinking water from the faucet, you are in the minority. If you do drink your water from the kitchen faucet, could you fill your glass from the bathroom faucet? I bet you can’t. I know that sounds icky to me. Same water, different association. Still we have become a squeamish people. Notice I didn’t say health conscious.

Plenty of people who have state of the art water filters still smoke, but I guess one health change is better than none. Many people buy the Brita water filters because they are affordable and reasonably effective. The Brita water filters hook on the existing faucet and purify the water. You have to change the water filter every so often and don’t have to worry because the filter will tell you when it’s time for a change.

Some people go all the way with their water filter systems. They purchase whole house water filters so that no matter where they are in their homes, they will have healthy pure water. If you can’t afford the whole house water filter, you might buy a drinking water filter system, a whirlpool water system, and a shower water filter. These portable water filters can offer you the same protection as a whole house water filter system with a lower price. The portable water filters can be installed without having a plumber coming to the house. That, of course, is a huge money saver.

Water purification has become a concern all over the world. On a recent cruise, we were told not to drink the water unless it was bottled. I worry that some day people will be told the same information here in the United States. Air and water pollution are a fact of life in today’s world. If you are not sure whether or not you need to buy a water filter system, pour a glass of water and leave it on the counter for a few days. You will be surprised at what you find. You might also ask to have your drinking water tested so that you will know what problems your water might have.

If you live out in the country and use well water, you certainly want to have your water tested. If the water is deemed ok for consumption, you still might want to purchase a well water filter just to be cautious. Drinking water is vital to our health and well being. Therefore, buying some type of water filter is a must have and not a luxury. Your health depends on your choices. Make the right one. Buy a water filter.

Hard Facts About Alzheimer’s Disease

Alzheimer’s is a neurodegenerative disease that is characterized by the progressive loss of brain function. The areas of the brain targeted first by the disease are associated with memory, so the first observable symptoms are usually mild forms of amnesia. Alzheimer’s is the most common form of the more general condition known as dementia. Dementia is an umbrella term used to describe any progressive damage to the areas of the brain that control memory or any other cognitive function.

The earliest stages of Alzheimer’s all involve symptoms associated with memory loss. Affected individuals may have a hard time remembering what day or month it is. They may find themselves losing items more frequently than normal, forgetting recent events or confused and disoriented in familiar environments. Normally, old memories are unaffected in these earlier stages. An affected person will recognize old friends and family, but may not have any clear memory of recent interactions with them.

As Alzheimer’s progresses, the affected person often begins exhibiting difficult behavior. They often become paranoid, quick to anger, overreact to minor things, suffer from hallucinations, and can even become violent. These behaviors are seen even in individuals that were shy, timid, or passive people prior to developing the disease. Someone in the middle stages of Alzheimer’s will usually begin to lose motor control and will need help dressing and performing everyday personal hygiene functions. They often also lose the ability to speak clearly, read or write. At this stage in the disease, even older memories become affected, and afflicted people may not recognize family members or life long friends at times.

In the later and final stages of the disease, individuals usually have complete memory loss and will recognize no one. They will be unable to communicate, walk, participate in personal care activities, or even eat on their own. As a result, sufferers in these late stages usually are incontinent and begin to lose a lot of weight. They often spend most of their time sleeping, and frequently suffer from seizures. Alzheimer’s will eventually lead to death due to loss of brain function.

While there are no known cures for Alzheimer’s, there are some treatments available that can slow the condition down, and a promising array of new treatments on the horizon. Our increased understanding of biology and the human genetic code have many scientists hopeful for effective preventive measures and possibly even cures in the near future. Already, there are results from a number of recent studies that suggest that certain life behaviors, such as a healthy diet and regular exercise, can help reduce your chances of developing the disease.

Beating Your Competitors

Whatever niche you decide to enter online, you are going to encounter competitors. There may well be unexploited niches on the Internet, but they are probably not profitable and so not worth your while getting involved in.

One question that often preys on the mind of Internet Marketers, particularly new ones, is “How can I compete with {insert name of successful marketer here}?”

You don’t actually have to compete with them, you just need to stand out from the crowd and compete with everyone else competing with them! You don’t necessarily need to be the dominant force in your chosen niche. Quite often being in the top ten is enough to have a good income without working too hard.

I always teach the people I coach that they need to go out and find twenty of their major competitors. They need to subscribe to their newsletters, read their websites and pay attention to what appears in their inbox.

Why? Because you need to understand what they are doing.

If you can find out what they are doing well, then you can emulate it and adapt it for own personal slant on the niche. You can also, of course, discover what they are not doing very well.

If you know what they are doing badly, then that is an opportunity for you to get into the market place. You can even use it as a selling point in your sales copy that you “do this better”. Of course, you never mention anyone by name, but you can make a point of mentioning that particular area and how you perform so well in it.

It gives you a chance to get a bit of an edge, particularly if your competitor has put their business on auto-pilot and not updated their product or website. The Internet is changing almost daily, and so products very quickly go out of date and the information in them becomes not as fresh or useful.

You can therefore capitalise on this and make it a selling point – something that differentiates you from your competitors and gives your market a powerful reason to buy from you. People always want the most up to date and newest information and are often willing to pay a premium price for it.

Understanding your competition gives you a fine handle on the market, from pricing through to promotion. Scout out your competition, see what they are doing and decide how you can do it better – and then enjoy the benefits of your research!

What To Do When Your Fears And Worries Overwhelm You

What do you do when your worries and anxieties overwhelm you? Here is a brief list of techniques that a person can use to help manage their worries and anxieties.

Sometimes what we fear may happen can be overly exaggerated. A lot of times, our worrying can make the problem even worse. Remember that all the worrying in the world will not change anything. All you can do is to do your best each day, hope for the best, and when something does happen, take it in stride.

A good way to manage your worry is to challenge your negative thinking with positive statements and realistic thinking. When encountering thoughts that make your fearful or anxious, challenge those thoughts by asking yourself questions that will maintain objectivity and common sense.

I read that most of what we worry about never comes true. Instead of worrying about something that probably won’t happen, concentrate on what you are able to do. Everything else you can leave in the hands of God.

When overwhelmed with worry, a person may encounter a lot of scary thoughts coming at them all at once. Instead of getting upset, remember that these thoughts are exaggerated and are not based on reality. From my interviews with various professionals, I’ve learned that usually it is the fear behind the thoughts that gets us worked up. Ignore the fear behind these thoughts, and your worry should decrease.

When managing your fears and anxieties do not try to tackle everything at once. The best solution is to break your fears or problems into a series of smaller steps. Completing these smaller tasks one at a time will make the stress more manageable and increases your chances of success.

As a Layman, I realize it can be difficult to get rid of our fears and worries even when they overwhelm us. If nothing else works, take a deep breath and try to find something to do for a few minutes to get your mind off of the problem. Doing something you enjoy can give you a fresh perspective on things.

If You Want To Live Longer Keep Moving

One of the questions asked constantly is “How can I live longer?” or “What can I do to put off aging?” The fact of the matter is all of us have the ability to take action that will accomplish this goal.

Our bodies were designed to move. Many health problems are related to inactivity including hypertension, heart disease, pulmonary problems, back pain, and more.

So what do we do to keep active? How much activity is enough?

Recent clinical studies have shown that just walking as little as thirty minutes a day can go a long way to increasing your health as well as reducing and maintaining your weight.

Another surprising result of the studies was that it doesn’t have to all be done at once. You can split it up into two fifteen minute sessions for example.

Depending on your level of fitness you may only be able to start with a brief walk of five or ten minutes. Don’t be discouraged, I once knew someone who could barely walk to the end of their driveway when they began and a few months later they were walking over four miles a day! I know an elderly man who walks to his local grocery store everyday and the round trip distance is nearly five miles. He is 92 years old! That should motivate you.

Bicycling is another great activity and for people with hip or knee problems that may cause too much pain when walking long distances riding a bike can be an excellent substitute. It should be noted however that since you are removing the weight bearing benefit that you get from walking you will have to bike longer than you would walk to obtain the same health benefit and also biking does not help to prevent against osteoporosis like walking can.

Another great activity is swimming and I see more and more seniors taking up this activity due to the fact that it is easy on the joints. Swimming is a great calorie burner and very good for promoting flexibility as well. Once again, just beware that it is a non weight bearing exercise and you should still include some form of weight bearing exercise to keep your bones healthy.

My personal favorite is weight training although I do all of the activities we have talked about here. Weight training when done properly will give you the best overall benefit and it has even been shown in studies that even people over the age of 75 can increase muscle mass and flexibility very quickly on a weight training program.

Don’t wait, go to your doctor and have a check up and have him make sure it is okay for you to exercise and get started on the road to better health today.

Pleasuring Her Sexuality – A Woman’s Desires and Needs

The uniqueness of every female in the world is an enigma that is difficult to solve.

When it comes to pleasuring her sexuality, there is no one-way to please every woman with one style or approach.

Each woman is different, needing individual attention to her desires and needs, where giving her pleasure becomes an exploration in what makes this one unique person sexually satisfied.

When initiating sexual intercourse with a female, one can engage in pleasing her sexuality several ways.

During a sexual act, couples may change from position to position, at any moment.

Many can sense the act of pleasure when a female expresses herself in ways including moaning or a tight grip.

Missionary Position

One of the most common positions used in pleasuring her sexuality is called the missionary position, where the man is on top of the female, directly penetrating her vagina. The women’s legs are usually open while she is positioned on the bottom.

There is also a side entry missionary position where the woman is on the side, while the man penetrates from behind.

Other missionary positions include:

Spot Game and Fish With Hunting Binoculars

Sitting in the woods waiting for game to pass by can be a tedious wait, but you can gain an advantage by using hunting binoculars while sitting in your tree stand. You will able to spot the game from a distance and verify a projected path and end the question of which way it is traveling.

However, there are numerous considerations in choosing the best hunting binoculars for you, and the geographical locations in which you hunt. Magnification, light gathering and ability to work in the weather environment of your hunting grounds will determine a good pair of hunting binoculars.

For general use binoculars with a size rating of 8×30 would work well, that is they have a magnification factor of eight and light gathering ability of 30. However, if you plan to get out in the wilds before dawn, perhaps hunting binoculars with a 8×40 or 7×50 rating would be better as they would have more light gathering capability.

Check For Non-Fogging Lenses

Hermetically sealed hunting binoculars filed with nitrogen are generally used for extreme weather conditions where freezing is a distinct possibility. They should also have the ability to be collimated as they may need adjusting as time goes by.

Each side of hunting binoculars are simple a telescope attached to another identical telescope. Their optical array is different than traditional telescopes to make them smaller and easier to handle. Both sides should give a bright, clear and identical image if viewed individually. Working together they give the appearance of a three-dimensional image, nearly identical to the original.

Magnesium fluoride coated lenses also reduce reflection to allow for brighter and more accurate renditions of the subject. A good pair of hunting binoculars will also have reduced reflective quality to reduce the amount of glare visible to animals. The outside of the unit should also be considered as to its visibility to game animals. Camouflage coverings are popular on hunting binoculars.

Another concern of hunters is noise and hunting binoculars usually have no exposed metal which would click together and possibly give away a hunter’s position. Putting it all together you might consider a 12×50 power set of hunting binoculars with coated lenses, ability to be calibrated and collimated as they get used. Flat green exterior with rubberized coating, nitrogen-filled and waterproof for up to one meter depth, providing years of reliable service and weighing just under two pounds.

Fishing Binoculars Help Imaging On Water

Due to light refraction through water, seeing undistorted images is a problem but a good pair of fishing binoculars can make the images more colorful, more realistic and without the distortion. Ultraviolet coating on the lenses of fishing binoculars also reduces the glare from the sun as it hits the water.

If you are on the water looking for signs of where the big fish are located, such as jumping Marlin or Blue Fish, a good pair of fishing binoculars can be a big help. The distortion-free vision offered on many models gives a better idea of the distance and most fishing binoculars come with extreme depth of field capabilities allowing for sharp images anywhere from 20 yards to infinity.

Fishing binoculars, since used on or near the water, are generally waterproof and the depth of their resistance to water infiltration will often determine the price. It is also important to remember to protect your fishing binoculars from the continued exposure to salt water if they are used on ocean cruises.

Seek Out Features You Need

If you are planning to spend a lot of time on a boat then fishing binoculars with coated lenses is necessary. These will reduce the amount of glare from the sun and make your images more defined. Additionally, with the glare almost completely gone, images will not be hidden by the reflected light.

Whether you are using the fishing binoculars to actually look for fish movement on the water or for trying to spot the shoreline if you get lost, be sure the magnification is strong enough to meet your needs. Depending on the size of the water way you be on will determine the strength of the fishing binoculars you will need.

Center focus fishing binoculars will enable one-handed operation easier and along with the prism being mounted on the roof of the binoculars making them more compact, they will be easier to carry, store and use. A rough waterproof coating is also desirable to make for more sure handling if they, or your hands, do get wet so they will not slip overboard.

The angle of view is determined by the lens size and depending on your needs, you may want a wider view lens. Similar to the lens on a camera, fishing binoculars also come with a variety of lenses. They are available from numerous manufacturers in many styles and magnifications. Resultantly, costs can range from about $40 to several thousands of dollars.

Nine Simple Ways to Increase the Intensity of Any Workout

Beginners usually do not need such advanced concepts simply because as a beginner, pretty much anything will work as it’s new to your body. You don’t need to bump up the intensity because the workout itself is usually hard enough. But for those who have worked out for quite some time, doing a simple routine doesn’t cut it. And for those who are entering a competition and may be on low card, sub-maintenance calories and doing cardio twice a day, adding more and more weight is easier said then done. Where’s the energy?

That’s where some advanced concepts come into play.

These are ways in which you can use the same routines, but thru some clever manipulation, you need not add any weight to make it the most intense routine you’ve ever experienced. This is especially a good toolset to use when you’ve worked out for many years and find it hard to make gains or you have a prior injury that makes it difficult to lift heavy weights. Working out heavier and heavier each time, trying to break your personal best can lead to injury and stagnation.

Using some of these advanced training concepts, you can take a simple bicep curl or bench press and maximize the intensity of the exercise without adding a single pound:

1. Repetition Speeds – Rather then 1 second up and 1 second down, there’s a little know fact that you can take advantage of to double the effectiveness of any exercise. That secret is slowly lowering the weight on the negative part of the movement. By utilizing this alone, you will have increased the effectiveness of any single exercise by 100%. Not only will you be working on the upward movement but you will work the muscle on the downward rather then most people who just let gravity take over. Vary your repetition speeds for an increase in intensity.

2. Tempo Variations – Have you ever seen any programs listed as 4032? That just means 4 seconds on the down motion; 0 seconds at the bottom of the movement; 3 seconds up; 2 second hold at the top. You can do all types of tempo variations to just feel the muscle working and increase the intensity. For example, how about a set of machine bench presses where it’s 8032? 8 seconds down? Not super-slow but very controlled. And with a nice 2 second squeeze at the top. You can take any exercise where you’ve done the same weight and instantly make it much harder and more intense. Without adjusting the weight in the slightest!

3. Tension Manipulation – If you think about it, some exercises like the dumbbell side lateral raise, when the weights are truly at your side (bottom of the movement) the tension is totally off the shoulder muscles. By using tension manipulation you can stop short of this occurring. Take the leg press for example. Rather then do a full rep where you might lock out and pause at the top, how about a slow 4 seconds down, 0 seconds at the bottom, 3 seconds up, and only go
